UE Theatre Holding Child Actor Auditions for Upcoming Production of the Musical "MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG"
Evansville, Ind. (08/06/2026) — The University of Evansville (UE) Department of Theatre is excited to invite child actors to audition for the role of Franklin Shepard, Jr. in the upcoming production of MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG, music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book George Furth.
Auditions will be between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 18, in Shanklin Theatre, on the University of Evansville main campus. Those interested in auditioning should prepare 16 bars of a song, including a verse and a chorus, along with being prepared to read from a short scene. Please bring sheet music for the pianist. Anyone is welcome to audition, with the note that Franklin is 8-11 years old in the story of the musical.
Rehearsals will begin on Aug. 31, and performances will run Oct. 23 through Nov. 1, 2026. Individuals should contact the Department of Theatre by email at theatre@evansville.edu or by calling 812.488.2744 for further information and to schedule a 15-minute time audition.
