University of Evansville Dean Appointed to ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission

Evansville, IN (04/01/2026) — The University of Evansville (UE) is proud to announce that Dr. Suresh Immanuel, Dean of the College of Business and Engineering and Associate Provost for Academic Partnerships, has been appointed as a Commissioner on the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) Engineering Accreditation Commission. His appointment was recently approved by the ABET Engineering Area Delegation, with his term set to begin August 1, 2026.

In this role, Dr. Immanuel will contribute to the review of accredited engineering programs and participate in final accreditation decisions, work that is essential to ensuring the quality, rigor, and continuous improvement of engineering education both nationally and internationally. The Commission also plays a key role in shaping accreditation criteria, policies and procedures to ensure alignment with evolving industry needs and educational standards.
