University of Evansville and Ivy Tech Community College Announce Guaranteed Admission Agreement

Evansville, Ind. (01/28/2025) — University of Evansville (UE) and Ivy Tech Community College announced a new partnership Tuesday that provides Ivy Tech graduates with a seamless pathway to continue their education at UE. This landmark partnership, known as a Guaranteed Admission Agreement (GAA), reinforces both institutions' commitment to creating opportunities for academic success and supporting students' educational aspirations.

The GAA guarantees admission to UE for students who complete an Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, or Associate of Applied Science degree at Ivy Tech with a cumulative GPA of 2.50 or higher. Students must meet specific requirements, including applying for admission to UE and completing all degree requirements for their program.

"College is more than earning a degree. It is about the journey of discovery, growth, and transformation and we are thrilled to welcome Ivy Tech graduates and provide them with the resources and opportunities to excel," said Christopher M. Pietruszkiewicz, President of the University of Evansville. "This agreement will change the trajectory of countless lives and, in doing so, will contribute to a brighter and stronger future for our communities and beyond. Together, we are changing lives and changing the world-one student at a time."

Highlights of the Agreement:

  • Guaranteed Admission: Ivy Tech graduates will be guaranteed admission to all UE bachelor's degree programs, with the exception of select programs such as Music, Theatre, and Nursing, which require additional criteria.
  • Scholarship Opportunities: Qualified students will receive a minimum academic scholarship of $20,000 per year for up to five semesters, with opportunities for higher awards based on GPA and achievements.
  • Seamless Transition: Existing articulation agreements ensure a smooth transfer process, enabling students to progress efficiently without losing credit.

"Ivy Tech Community College is proud to partner with the University of Evansville to expand access to high-quality education both here in Evansville, and abroad, and facilitate a smooth transition for our students," said Daniela Vidal, Chancellor of Ivy Tech Evansville.

Both institutions are committed to ongoing collaboration to support students throughout their academic journey. The agreement will be reviewed every three years to ensure it remains responsive to students' needs and educational advancements.
