University of Evansville Adding New Mural at Weinbach Avenue Overpass
Evansville, Ind. (08/06/2025) — The University of Evansville (UE) is adding a bold visual landmark to one of the city's busiest corridors with a new mural installation along the Lloyd Expressway overpass at Weinbach Avenue.
The project, currently underway, features UE's institutional logo on both sides of the overpass and is being completed by local contractor Turpen Painting. The mural is expected to be finished by August 21, just in time to welcome students, faculty, and staff for the start of the 2025-2026 academic year.
"The mural will provide a vibrant new gateway to campus and help highlight the University's strong connection to the city of Evansville," said UE Chief Communications Officer Noah Alatza. "It's a bold and visible way to show our pride and create a sense of arrival for students, families, employees, and visitors."
Positioned at one of the most highly traveled access points to the University, the mural is designed to strengthen UE's visual identity while enhancing the surrounding area. The design will feature UE's official logo on both the east- and west-facing walls beneath the expressway, where it will be seen by thousands of drivers each day.
Updates and final photos will be shared as the project nears completion.
