Miriam G.'45 and Melvin R.'48 Kahl University of Evansville Educational Scholarship Fund Established
Evansville, Ind. (10/23/2024) — The University of Evansville (UE) is honored to announce a generous estate gift of over $57,000 from Miriam G. '45 and Melvin R. '48 Kahl, which will establish the Miriam G. '45 and Melvin R. '48 Kahl Endowed Educational Scholarship Fund.
Melvin Kahl served in the Pacific during WWII and, after the war, pursued a degree in mechanical engineering at then Evansville College, where he met his future wife, Miriam. The couple married in 1951, beginning a lifelong partnership. Miriam was an avid Contract Bridge Player attaining the designation of "Life Master." She loved music, water and snow skiing, and watching basketball and football.
The scholarship will be awarded to students majoring in programs within the Schroeder Family School of Business Administration, ensuring that the Kahl family's legacy continues to support future generations of business students.
The University is deeply grateful for the Kahl family's commitment to fostering educational opportunities at their alma mater for years to come.
