MEDIA ADVISORY: UE to Reveal Hughes Hall Time Capsule Contents During Annual Founders Day Celebration

Evansville, Ind. (02/16/2023) — Media Advisory from the University of Evansville -

WHO: President Christopher M. Pietruszkiewicz, Rita P. Eykamp, Life Trustee, University of Evansville Board of Trustees, Daniel R. Robinson, Jr., Alumni Association Board President, and Shane L. Ranschaert, President, Student Government Association.

WHAT: The University of Evansville's Founders Day Celebration featuring the unveiling of contents from the Hughes Residence Hall time capsule.

WHEN: 4:00 p.m. CST on Friday, February 17, 2023.

WHERE: Bernhardt Atrium of the Schroeder Family School of Business Administration.

DETAILS: During the demolition of Hughes Hall last year, a time capsule was uncovered near the main entrance of the building. This capsule is over 60 years old and contains a collection of items that are set to be revealed during the Founders Day Celebration. Rita P. Eykamp '59, a special guest, will join in on the unveiling of the contents of the time capsule, providing a unique perspective on its significance.
