UE President Christopher Pietruszkiewicz to Join Shepard Lecture Series Discussion on U.S. Supreme Court

Evansville, IN (09/14/2026) — University of Evansville (UE) President Christopher Pietruszkiewicz will bring his legal expertise to an upcoming discussion examining some of the most significant recent decisions of the U.S. Supreme Court and the cases still to come.

Pietruszkiewicz will serve as a special guest for the annual Randall T. Shepard Lecture Series, "The Supreme Court: Recent Decisions and the Cases Ahead," on Tuesday, September 22. He will join Les Shively, a judge on Vanderburgh County's Superior Court, and local attorney Pat Shoulders for the discussion.

Before entering higher education leadership, Pietruszkiewicz built an extensive career in law and legal education. A tax attorney, he worked as a trial lawyer in the Tax Division of the United States Department of Justice in Washington, D.C., and as an attorney and advisor for the United States Department of Education.

In 2000, he entered academia as an adjunct professor at George Mason University School of Law. He joined the law faculty at the Louisiana State University Law Center in Baton Rouge in 2001 and later served as vice chancellor for business and financial affairs at LSU. Beginning in 2012, Pietruszkiewicz served for six years as dean of the Stetson University College of Law in Tampa Bay, Florida, before coming to the University of Evansville in 2018.

The event is open to the public and offers one Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit for Indiana attorneys. Doors will open at 5:00 p.m., with the presentation taking place from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. A reception will follow.
