2012 Sep 10

The University of Evansville is proud to announce that Nathaniel Graves, a resident of Rensselaer, IN volunteered for United Way of Southwestern Indiana's Day of Caring.

The annual Day of Caring, held this year on Friday, September 7, encourages community residents to donate their time and talents to local nonprofit organizations. Approximately 100 volunteers from the University of Evansville, including Graves, performed community service at four different locations. Graves, majoring in Education, volunteered at Arc Industries, which provides employment and vocational training to individuals with disabilities.

"Social responsibility with compassion is a hallmark of the University of Evansville experience, and last year, UE students contributed more than 19,000 hours of service to the Evansville community," said Brian Conner, UE assistant director of residence life and coordinator of UE's Day of Caring volunteers. "We were thrilled to have Nathaniel Graves on board for this year's Day of Caring. Nathaniel's time, hard work, and willingness to serve truly made a difference to local nonprofits in need."
