Tyler Best of Elizabeth Preaches at National Festival

The University of Evansville is proud to announce that Tyler Best of Elizabeth will preach at the National Festival of Young Preachers in Louisville, Kentucky, January 2-5. Best, a graduate of Lanesville Junior-Senior High School, is majoring in religion at UE.

More than 120 young preachers from more than 25 states are registered to attend the National Festival of Young Preachers, which will take place at the historic Seelbach Hilton hotel and the Cathedral of the Assumption in downtown Louisville.

The festival, sponsored by the Academy of Preachers, is an ecumenical preaching event designed for young preachers between the ages of 16 and 28. Attendees represent a broad range of Christian denominations, including Ethiopian Orthodox, United Methodist, Assembly of God, Lutheran, Baptist, Presbyterian, and United Church of Christ.

The event is not a competition, but an opportunity to showcase and encourage young people who aspire to preach the Gospel. Participants receive feedback from experienced preachers and also attend worship services and prayer sessions throughout the festival.
