2012 Jan 6

The University of Evansville is proud to announce that Omaha native Lillian Steckman, a graduate of North High School, will spend the Spring 2012 semester studying abroad in Cannes, France. Steckman, who is majoring in Theatre, will study at the College International de Cannes in a program run by the American Institute for Foreign Study (AIFS).

"At the University of Evansville, we're committed to providing students such as Lillian Steckman with life-transforming educational experiences abroad," said Earl Kirk, UE director of study abroad. "By spending a semester in France, Lillian will gain cultural awareness, unforgettable memories, and a truly global education."

The University of Evansville is a recognized leader in study abroad. In the 2011 Open Doors report, the Institute of International Education ranked UE in the nation's top 15 master's-granting institutions for study abroad participation. Approximately half of UE graduates study abroad during their college careers, and Steckman is one of 136 UE students abroad for the Spring 2012 semester.
