Kaitlin Emmert of Ferdinand Wins University of Evansville's Vukovich Concerto Competition

The University of Evansville's Department of Music is proud to announce that Ferdinand resident Kaitlin Emmert (violin) has been named a winner of the Vukovich Concerto Competition.

Emmert, who is majoring in Music Therapy, was selected as one of three winners from a group of competitors who performed for a three-person jury of music faculty members. Emmert will perform as a soloist with the University Symphony Orchestra during the 2013-14 season of concerts.

"Winning the Vukovich Concerto Competition is a tremendous honor, and Kaitlin should be deeply proud of this accomplishment," said Thomas Josenhans, chair of the Department of Music. "Kaitlin has dedicated significant time and effort to becoming an outstanding musician, and we're pleased to provide this opportunity for her to showcase her talent."
