Joe Luegers of Jasper Wins University of Evansville's Vukovich Concerto Competition

The University of Evansville's Department of Music is proud to announce that Jasper resident Joe Luegers (piano) has been named a winner of the Vukovich Concerto Competition.

Luegers, who is majoring in Music Education, was selected as one of three winners from a group of competitors who performed for a three-person jury of music faculty members. Luegers will perform as a soloist with the University Symphony Orchestra during the 2013-14 season of concerts.

"Winning the Vukovich Concerto Competition is a tremendous honor, and Joe should be deeply proud of this accomplishment," said Thomas Josenhans, chair of the Department of Music. "Joe has dedicated significant time and effort to becoming an outstanding musician, and we're pleased to provide this opportunity for him to showcase his talent."
