Shuang Liang of Evansville Studies Contemporary European Business Issues in England

2012 May 11

University of Evansville student Shuang Liang, a resident of Evansville, IN, is spending part of the summer studying abroad at Harlaxton College, UE's British campus near Grantham, England.

Liang, majoring in Finance, is currently enrolled in the Contemporary European Business Issues course, which runs May 3-13. Peter Sherman, associate professor of management in UE's Schroeder Family School of Business Administration, is teaching the course.

Contemporary European Business Issues covers strategic business concepts in the context of the European Union, such as issues related to the European Monetary Union, global challenges facing European business, and comparative business and leadership experiences. During the 10-day course, students participate in site visits throughout the United Kingdom to develop understanding of operations of corporations from a global perspective.

For more than 40 years, Harlaxton College has been a cornerstone of the global experience available to UE students. Housed in a 100-room Victorian manor in the English countryside, Harlaxton hosts students from UE and partner institutions across the United States for semester-long and summer study abroad programs.
