Caitlin Smith of Troy Presents Paper at National History Conference

The University of Evansville is proud to announce that Caitlin Smith of Troy recently presented a paper at the biennial conference of Phi Alpha Theta, a national history honor society. Smith presented "Landlord-Assisted Emigration During the Great Irish Famine."

Smith, a graduate of Troy High School majoring in History, was one of eight UE students whose papers were accepted for presentation. UE associate professor of history Annette Parks, a member of Phi Alpha Theta's national council, accompanied the group.

Phi Alpha Theta is an American honor society for undergraduate and graduate students and professors of history. The society's 2012 biennial conference took place January 3-7 in Orlando, Florida.
